"...I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me." Matthew 25:43.

One of the most important ministries at God's House is our Prison Ministry. We feel it's a vital roll of the local church to get into the prisons and spread the message of Jesus Christ. Many inmates are caught up in gangs, poverty and drugs that draw them to a life of crime. However, when we've shown them the love of Christ, and told them what he has done in our lives, God has turned many of their lives around. All it takes is an open heart.

Not only do we go into the adult prisons, but we also go into juvenile correctional facilities (Rivarde).  Getting to the younger generation is vital to our cause.  Many of these teenagers have been brought up in broken homes.  They don't know how it feels to have someone love them. That's why we must show them the unconditional love of Jesus Christ.

Rev. Kathy Radke, Chaplain of the Jefferson Parish Correctional Facility and Rivarde Juvenile Detention Center, has been working in the local prisons and correctional facilities for 25 years. With the support of God's House, she has seen what a difference the body of Christ can make.
